Lizzie Nunnery & Vidar Norheim

May 25 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Lizzie and Vidar’s first album Company of Ghosts was nominated for Best Debut in the Spiral Earth Awards, and Radio 2′s Mike Harding listed it in his top 10 albums of the year. They’re second album Black Hound Howling and subsequent EP, Songs of Drink and Revolution, were met with wide acclaim as the duo began to take on political themes and to combine songs with beat poetry and storytelling. This year they released Narvik, an EP featuring songs, soundtrack and monologues from their award winning theatre show of the same name.

Lizzie is also an award winning playwright. Her play with songs Narvik (Box of Tricks National Tour Jan-March 2017, Norwegian Tour with Nordland Theatre Autumn 2018), was shortlisted for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award and won Best New Play in the UK Theatre Awards 2017. Other recent work includes play with songs The Sum (Everyman, May-June 2017) with the theatre’s new rep company, The Snow Dragons (National Theatre, Connections Festival, July 2017), and Horny Handed Tons of Soil (Unity Theatre Liverpool, July 2017, National Tour Spring 2018) a live poetry and music piece commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Mersey Sound anthology.

Vidar is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Norway, now based in Liverpool. Vidar has toured worldwide as a member of Liverpool’s alt pop unit Wave Machines with highlights including Glastonbury, SXSW and BBC Electric Proms. In 2011 he was named as Norway’s most promising song writing talent, winning a place at Song:Expo with some of the worlds leading producers and songwriters.
